The Hospital de Tacuarembó incorporates the first urinalysis equipment in the country with fluorescent flow cytometry.
This instrument makes it possible to automate biochemistry and particle analysis, as well as obtain better digital images. In addition to saving time and staff dedication, it reduces the number of daily urine cultures that the laboratory will have to perform.
Beatriz Gadola, head of the Laboratory at the Tacuarembó Hospital, comments that "this is revolutionary, it allows us to give urine the importance it has, and generate savings in the bacteriology part."
This facility will have a great impact on the northern part of the country, since the laboratory of the Tacuarembó Hospital serves about 300 patients daily, serving a total population of 450,000 public health users in Artigas, Rivera, Cerro Largo and Lavalleja, in addition to Tacuarembó.
"Now comes a stage of working closely with doctors to tell them about the additional value that this test gives us and that it becomes customary to use and interpret it," says Gadola.
We are proud to continue supporting the development of quality diagnostics throughout the country with Sysmex.
