At Biodiagnostics we are proud to announce the agreement with the renowned Italian company Eurospital for the distribution of its diagnostic solutions for gastrointestinal pathologies in Uruguay.
Thanks to this incorporation, the country today has at its disposal the necessary technology for early and accurate detection of digestive and oncological diseases through turbidimetric tests. With Eurospital's solution, three key parameters can be analysed with the same sample: calprotectin, pancreatic elastase and faecal occult blood.
The measurement of calprotectin allows differentiating between inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatic elastase is essential to diagnose pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, while fecal occult blood is an essential marker in the detection of colorectal cancer.
Uruguay has stood out in the region for its commitment to the prevention and early detection of gastrointestinal diseases. In particular colon cancer, given the high incidence of this disease in the population. Recently, our country has made progress in the criteria for quantifying fecal occult blood to align with international standards, guaranteeing earlier and more accurate diagnoses.
